Update #3

There’s nothing more powerful than seeing a smile cross the face of a young boy or girl when they accomplish something new! Last weekend in Houghton, Mich. a record field of over 400 athletes took part in the opening of our CXC Cup. It was a showcase of all we do in CXC Skiing!

As I stood trackside I was mesmerized by the pride on the faces of the Under 14 athletes in the CXC Youth Cup - many competing for the very first time. I took personal pride while watching teenaged skiers in the CXC Junior Cup, knowing they came through our CXC development pathway.

Cross country skiing  is a healthful, outdoor sport. At CXC Skiing, we change lives by introducing youth to sport and making it possible for disabled individuals of all ages to enjoy the outdoors like never before.

In the past few years, CXC Skiing has introduced over 17,000 youth to skiing through its award-winning Nordic Rocks program in schools and parks across the Midwest. It developed an innovative sit-ski that allows disabled individuals to enjoy cross country skiing, providing over 300 sit-skis to individuals and local clubs.

If you are an enthusiastic cross country skier, or maybe just appreciate what CXC Skiing does for youth and the disabled community, you can be a  part of the difference by supporting CXC Skiing.

And we’re making it even easier for you with our matching grant challenge! Our goal in December is to raise $45,000. With the matching grants we have arranged from our generous benefactors, it’s even easier for your $25, $50, $100 or $250 donation to make a real difference.

At CXC Skiing, we’re proud of our programs. We feel they are all worthy of your support.

CXC Skiing’s Nordic Rocks for Schools Program introduces children to cross country skiing through 123 elementary and middle schools across the Midwest. Over 17,000 kids have been introduced to the sport with a high percentage sticking with it through local clubs. It takes $5,000 to set up one school with a 30-35 cross country skis, storage equipment and educational materials. Our goal this month: $15,000.

CXC Skiing makes a real difference with our CXC Adaptive Program introducing children, adults and military veterans with physical disabilities, visual impairment or blindness by providing them with equipment and offering opportunities for year-round participation. Our program at Veteran’s Administration Hospitals in Chicago, Milwaukee and Minneapolis is making a real difference for our military veterans. Our goal this month: $15,000.

CXC’s Skier Development Program helps those young athlete achieve their dreams! Olympic champion Jessie Diggins, who captivated the world in PyeongChang, is an example of an athlete who came out of CXC Skiing programs. Our CXC Development Program provides coaching support at training camps, provides clubs with resources and expertise, and sharing best practices among ski clubs and guiding coaches with fundamental principles of coaching, technique and principles of SafeSport to help safeguard our youth. Our goal this month is: $15,000.

At CXC Skiing, we’re proud of the impact we have on youth and the opportunities we have provided to individuals with physical disabilities - especially our military veterans. You can be a part of helping our cause by making a small donation. With our matching grant challenge, you can increase your impact! Thank you for considering support for CXC Skiing’s programs.

Update #4

It is with excitement that we announce our 6th consecutive Year End Challenge Grant program, ‘Support our Sport’.

Like you, we at Central Cross Country Skiing (CXC) love cross country skiing and want others to join us. There are very few lifelong sports where families can enjoy an active lifestyle outdoors.

With our Year End Challenge Grant program, we are seeking to raise $45,000 to support our sport.

Whether you give $25, $500 or $1,000 - it all makes a difference.

Your tax deductible donation will help us introduce more boys and girls to cross country skiing through Nordic Rocks for Schools. It will help us donate another sit ski to a physically challenged skier. Or it will help fuel the Olympic dreams of a junior athlete.

Take a look at the programs below to learn more about what we do. And pledge your support today. We have just 28 days remaining this year to achieve our goal of $45,000 with this campaign.

Update #3

Dear fellow skier,

As a cross country skier, you know how it feels to be out on the trail. It’s a quiet energy as your skis glide through the tracks, as freshly-fallen snow clings to the branches of the trees.

At CXC Skiing, it’s our mission to bring that feeling to others. Our award-winning nordic rocks program has introduced that feeling to over 17,000 young boys and girls! Last week, over a dozen junior athletes had the thrill of skiing out in the Rockies at our annual West Yellowstone Junior Camp. And our innovative CXC Adaptive Program has provided cross country ski equipment and sit-ski frames to over 300 physical and visual challenged men and women - giving them a chance to do something of which they had only dreamed.

At CXC Skiing, we are changing lives through cross country skiing.

This week is #GivingTuesday - a day our nation comes together to support their passion to help others. Our goal is to raise $45,000 through December. And to kick it off on #GivingTuesday, we have a matching grant for the first $1,000 we raise. If you can make a donation of $25 to CXC Skiing today, our donor will match the $25 making it $50 to support programs like Nordic Rocks.

As a cross country skier, join us in spreading the word about our sport. Help a young boy or girl experience that thrill. Help provide a military veteran at VA hospitals throughout the Midwest know the joy of skiing.

Take a minute now to simply click here to donate on #GivingTuesday where every dollar is matched.

Thank you for your support of CXC Skiing on #GivingTuesday.
